This is not the business. It is a small effort run alongside it, because the only thing standing between surplus fruit and hungry people is often the cost of the trip to Sydney.
Rescue freight pilot
Growers often have surplus fruit available for donation, but transport costs to food relief charities can be a barrier. The missing link is often the diesel needed to bring that fruit to Sydney.
We are preparing a private GoFundMe pilot administered by Roy Cave & Son (a commercial business). Funds will be used strictly for verified diesel costs for surplus produce transport. Transparency is maintained through public reporting of each load, distance, and cost.
The campaign link will appear here once the public reporting arrangement and permission to use charity names are confirmed. Donations to this pilot are not tax-deductible.
A grower offers sound surplus fruit and provides the load details.
A registered charity confirms need and capacity; the freight is verified against actual diesel costs.
The load reaches Sydney and the cost, boxes and delivery confirmation are published.
Growers with surplus, or anyone who can help with a load, can start with a message.
